Radio/Stereo: Service and Repair

When installing radio, be sure to adjust antenna trimmer for peak performance.

1982---88

For an all-electronic radio, perform step 6 first.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove radio knobs and screws attaching the bezel to instrument panel.
3. Remove the radio mounting plate attaching screws.
4. Pull radio to disengage it from the lower rear support bracket.
5. Disconnect radio wiring and remove radio.
6. Remove the radio to mounting plate retaining nuts and washers and remove the mounting plate.
7. Remove the rear upper support retaining nut and remove the support.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Perform step 6 first if equipped with all-electronic radio.
