A Pillar/Door Glass Area - Wind Noise

ISSUE: Wind noise at the "A" pillar door glass area may be caused by the weatherstrip inside the door being positioned incorrectly during assembly.

ACTION: To correct this, reposition the weatherstrip assembly to the front door inner panel using the following service procedure.

1. Open front door and remove door trim panel. Refer to the appropriate Car Shop Manual, Section 45-03 for removal and installation procedures.

2. Remove and save drill point retaining screw holding weatherstrip assembly to door inner panel (-5420568-), Figure 1.

3. Reposition weatherstrip assembly making sure it touches door glass run, Figure 1. Slight interference at door glass run area is tolerable.

4. Drill a new hole using the existing hole on the weatherstrip assembly as a guide.

5. Install the drill point retaining screw.

6. Reinstall door trim panel.

7. Repeat procedure for other side of vehicle.
