ISSUE: The Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) decal on some 1987 Escort/Lynx/EXP vehicles have incorrect spark plug information. The VECI decals having this incorrect information are E7AE-9C485-CBB for the 50 States and E7AE-9C485-CBC for Canada.

ACTION: If the VECI decal lists any other than AGSF-24C spark plugs, modify the VECI decal with a sharpie pen to indicate AGSF-24C spark plugs. Install a Ford Authorized Modification Decal noting the change. The vehicle should be serviced with AGSF-24C spark plugs only as outlined in TSB 86-23-8.

NOTE: The correct spark plug information is published in the Owner Guide. The correct spark plugs were installed at the time of assembly.
