Dealer Inspection Procedures




1. Remove the insulator from the driver's side outboard seat track. If equipped with a plastic front sight shield, remove the front retaining screw and position the sight shield out of the way.

2. Inspect the seat track for design level. (Refer to Figure 1).

3. If the car is equipped with the latest design level track, it is not involved in the recall and does not require modification or replacement. Release the car.

4. If the car is equipped with the 1985-1987 model design level track, modify or replace it following the technical instructions provided in the original Recall Bulletin 89S73.

REFUNDS

Refunds will be provided to owners who have paid for service as a result of this condition. Refunds will include the costs of parts, labor, and any deductible charges.

NOTIFICATION Car owners whose names amd addresses are shown on enclosed
listings are being notified by First Class Mail. If the owner of any car cannot be contacted or does not make an appointment to have his car corrected, advise your District Office or supervising Ford location of the owner's name and address so that we can handle further notification.
