1. Raise vehicle on hoist.

2. Check rear suspension fasteners and torque to the proper specifications as required. (See Figure 19)

3. Check for rear wheel bearing end play. Grasp the tire at the top and bottom and rock. If any looseness is felt, adjust the adjusting nut as shown in Figure 20. Looseness could also be a bad bearing.

4. Check both rear shock absorbers for noise by bouncing rear end of vehicle up and down. If noisy, identify the part number stamped on the shock and replace as follows:

^ If shock absorber part number is E6DC- 18080-FC or E6DC-18080-GA, replace only the noisy one.

^ If shock has yellow paint dot, E6DC-18080- FD, replace both.
