LINCOLN-MERCURY: 1987 SABLE

ISSUE: If the 1986 overhaul gasket kit (7C391), or resealing kit (7153), are used to service 1987 vehicles, some of the 1986 gaskets must be replaced with 1987 gaskets because of the unique shape and size of the 1987 gaskets.

ACTION: The following gaskets should be removed from the 1986 kits and replaced with 1987 gaskets when the 1986 gasket kits are used to service 1987 vehicles. Refer to the gasket application chart for the substitute 1987 gasket part numbers.
