LINCOLN-MERCURY: 1987 SABLE

ISSUE: In Section 16-6 (Quick Test) of the 1987 Engine/Emission Diagnosis Shop Manual, Volume H, the pinpoint test step direction for Key On/Engine Off (KOEO) Service Code 88 is incorrect for 3.0L EFI passenger car applications.

ACTION: Use Pinpoint Test Step Direction X80 in Quick Test Step 3.0C: 3.0L passenger car applications for Key On/Engine Off (KOEO) Service Code 88.


Please revise your 1987 Engine/Emission Diagnosis Shop Manual, Volume H for future reference.

NOTE: Service Code 89 should use Pinpoint Test Direction T51.
