FORD: 1986-88 TAURUS

LINCOLN-MERCURY: 1986-88 SABLE

ISSUE: An extended 1-2 shift at wide open throttle (WOT) may be caused by fluid leaking from worn forward cylinder seals. This causes a loss of hydraulic pressure/capacity necessary to regulate the 1-2 shift.

ACTION: To correct this, install the new design forward cylinder seals that are orange with green speckles (E6DZ-7D019-A). Whenever the transmission overhaul kit (E6DZ-7C391-A) or the soft seal kit (E6DZ-7153-A) is used, the orange seals provided in these kits should be thrown away and replaced with the new, ORANGE WITH GREEN SPECKLES, seals.
