Ford Motor Company is offering a no-charge Service Program for the vehicle described below:
Vehicle Description:
Serial Number:
REASON FOR THIS PROGRAM
We have found that certain heater hoses on affected vehicles may not be able to withstand higher-than normal engine operating temperatures and might break.
A broken hose with associated loss of coolant could result in engine overheating followed by possible engine damage.
WHAT WE WILL DO
Depending upon the type of engine installed in your vehicle, we will replace at no-charge two heater inlet hoses or a heater inlet hose and/or a water bypass hose. Engine repairs as a result of this described condition are included, if this is necessary.
Service provided by this program is available during the basic vehicle warranty (12-months from the in-service date or 12,000-miles of service) or through July 31, 1988, whichever provides the greater coverage. We will also provide a refund to you for this service if you paid to have it done and the repair was a result of this condition.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
CONTACT YOUR FORD OR LINCOLN-MERCURY DEALER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
REFUNDS
For a refund, take your paid repair order or parts purchase receipt to your Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealer no later than July 31, 1988. The dealer will process a refund if the repairs were made prior to the receipt of this letter.
Included with this letter you will find the Ford Customer Information announcement. This system provides information on programs such as the program described in this letter and other information that may be of interest to you.
