Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Technical Instructions

A. Inspection

Physically inspect the engine to verify it is a 2.3L CFI (central fuel injection).

Physically inspect the vehicle VIN Plate, Safety Compliance Decal, Warranty Card and Vehicle Registration Certificate and report the seventeen character VIN contained on each of these items by telephone (collect) to Mrs. Elsie Barker at (416) 845-2511 Ext. 1494 who will review the information and advise if the vehicle can be released or what corrective action is required.

Revised VIN Plates, Safety Compliance Decals and Warranty Cards will be supplied by the Recall and Owner Notification Section to the Regional Service Office who will coordinate supply and be present when installation of replacement elements is to be performed. Dealers are also to provide assistance to owners where vehicle registration certificates require revision to correct the VIN.
