VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE 8/01/87 88-6-14

MERKUR: 1985-88 XR4Ti 1988 SCORPIO

ISSUE: Alloy road wheels that are hard to remove from the rotor hub pilot may be caused by corrosion build-up on the surface of the hub assembly.

ACTION: If service is required, remove the corrosion build-up from the hub and apply a thin coat of anti-seize compound or Long Life Lubricant to the hub and wheel mating surfaces.

NOTE: Vehicles built after 8/01/87 have the hub coated with an anti-corrosive material to prevent corrosion build-up.
