This TSB is article is being republished in its entirety to include a service procedure for the removal and installation of the door handles.

ISSUE:
The inside door handles may break because of their design.

ACTION:
Install new door handles with an improved design. Refer to the following procedure for service details. These new parts replace the obsolete parts (E8DZ-5422600-G and E8DZ-5422601-G) which should be withdrawn from your inventory and returned to your facing Parts Distribution Center within 30 days of this TSB.

NOTE:
THESE HANDLES FIT FRONT AND REAR DOORS.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove the door handle retaining bolt using an 8 mm quarter inch drive socket.

NOTE:
DOOR TRIM REMOVAL IS NOT REQUIRED.

2. Position new handle and install retaining bolt. Tighten screw to 7-11 N-m (5-8 lb.ft.).

PARTS PURGE

^ Return obsolete inside door handles (E8DZ-5422600-G and E8DZ-5422601-G) to your facing PDC using the least expensive transportation.

^ Complete a separate FPS-340 claim for these parts.

^ Indicate Reason "J" on the claims.

^ In the Remarks Section write "Returned per TSB 92-12-2.

LIMITS

^ The returns must have been received within 30 days from the date of TSB 92-12-2 (6-3-92).

^ Returns are restricted to the subject parts.

^ The parts returned must have been purchased from FPSD in accordance with Policy and Procedure Bulletin 4000.

CREDIT

Credit for parts and prepaid freight costs will be issued.
