All vehicles were manufactured from January 1, 1988 through May 31, 1988.
Reason For Program
Some of the vehicles affected by this program may experience charging system problems as a result of an open circuit in the alternator caused by breakdown of an epoxy bond.
Not in CARES/OASIS
Since this program provides for coverage and owners are asked to return if they have the condition, CARES/OASIS WILL NOT be activated.
Program Provisions and Limitations
Owners of affected vehicles will be provided coverage for the described condition through April, 1990. Vehicles involved will be serviced by replacing the alternator rotor or the alternator assembly.
Refunds
Owners who have paid for alternator repairs as a RESULT OF THIS CONDITION prior to the receipt of notice of the program will be refunded costs of parts, labor, including deductible charges and towing. Refund requests must be submitted to a dealer by July 31, 1989. Refund requests after the receipt of notice of the program will be permitted only for emergency situations.
