This is to advise you of a special Ford Motor Company service program (B87) involving power steering pulleys on certain 1988-model 3.8L engine equipped Taurus, Sable and Continental cars. Our records indicate that you own the car described below:

REASON FOR On some of these vehicles the power steering pump pulley
THE PROGRAM may break causing the pulley to detach. This would affect
the operation of engine accessories such as air conditioning, power steering assist and water pump. If this should occur, the vehicle could still be steered manually. However, greater steering efforts would be necessary.
WHAT WE Contact any Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealer. They will

LIMITATIONS The service provided by this program is available through
March 1990.
REFUNDS If you have already had the pulley replaced at your expense
prior to the receipt of this notification, Ford will refund you for the cost that you incurred for the parts and labor. Refunds include any deductible amounts you may have paid.
To request a refund, please present your paid repair order or over-the-counter part purchase receipt to any Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealership by March 31, 1990. The dealership will make arrangements to refund you for the repair costs that you incurred.
