SERVICE PARTS - RETURN OF OBSOLETE POWER STEERING HOSES

FORD:
1988-93 TAURUS

LINCOLN-MERCURY:
1988-93 CONTINENTAL, SABLE

ISSUE:
Some power steering hoses have been replaced with a revised design and should no longer be used for service. These hoses should be withdrawn from your inventory immediately and returned for credit per instructions below.

ACTION:
Remove and return all hoses listed below from your dealership's inventory. These parts should be returned to your facing Parts Distribution Center (PDC) within 30 days of this TSB.

1. Perform 100% sort of all stock of power steering hoses on hand.

2. Stock of listed numbers have been replaced and should no longer be used.

3. Stock of these replaced hoses should be returned to your facing PDC using the least expensive transportation.

4. If claim is processed electronically via DOES II, use return code "GB"; otherwise, complete a separate paper claim form FPS-340 using return code "J."

5. In the Remarks Section, write "Returned per TS8 97-1-6."

LIMITS

^ The returns must be received within 30 days from the date of this TSB.

^ Returns are restricted to the subject parts.

^ The parts returned must have been purchased from Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD) in accordance with Policy and Procedure Bulletin 4000.

CREDIT

Credit for parts and prepaid freight costs will be issued.

Replacement stock is available for ordering.
