ISSUE: Rust that appears to be running down the inside door frame painted sheet metal may be caused by the power door lock actuator retaining rivet. The rivet used to secure the actuator to the inside door frame has a carbon steel mandrel that could produce rust if exposed to road salts.
ACTION: Install a new design actuator retaining rivet that has a stainless steel mandrel to resist corrosion.
