Ignition Diagnostic Monitor (IDM)

The Ignition Diagnostic Monitor is a function of the DIS module. The DIS module sends information on the system failures to the EEC IV, which stores the information for the diagnostic self test. The IDM signal is also used to drive the vehicle instrument tachometer and to test the tachometer for system diagnosis.
