Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Operation

The door lock control motor in each side door operates the door lock mechanism by actuating a linkage. The liftgate lock cannot be released when the engine is running except with the key.

The central locking system is activated by locking either front door from the outside with a key. This action will lock all four doors. The liftgate and fuel filler door are locked with the doors locked or the engine running.

When all doors and liftgate are closed, the central locking system is activated from inside vehicle by pushing either driver or passenger front door lock lever rearward covering the red block in the switch opening.
