Fig. 5 Front Outboard Pad Removal:
REMOVAL
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Disconnect brake pad wear sensor electrical connector from main harness. Remove connector from clip, leaving clip in position under bleed screw.
4. Remove spring retaining clip from caliper housing.
5. Unfasten caliper assembly and position aside. Do not disconnect brake line.
6. Remove inboard brake pad from piston.
7. Force piston into caliper housing using tool No. D79L-2196-A or equivalent, Fig. 5, then remove outboard pad.
INSTALLATION
1. Install inboard pad into caliper piston, then the outboard pad into anchor bracket.
2. Install pad sensor wiring clip, then the caliper assembly. Torque caliper bolts to specification.
3. Install wheel and tire assembly, then lower vehicle.
4. Pump brake pedal several times to properly position brake pads before moving vehicle.
5. Verify proper operation of pad wear warning lamp, then road test vehicle.
