Heating and Air Conditioning: Description and Operation

The Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC) system uses a control module to maintain interior vehicle temperature. Interior temperature is selected by the temperature control buttons on the temperature control assembly. Pressing RH on the control assembly increases interior temperature in one degree increments. Pressing LH on the control assembly lowers the interior temperature in one degree increments. The EATC module then stores the selected temperature and monitors the discharge and in-vehicle temperature sensors. The module then positions the air-blend door motor so the correct amount of air-conditioned air is combined with air from the heater core to provide desired temperature.
