Idle Speed

Idle Speed Adjustment:

Because idle speed is automatically controlled by the ECA through the Idle Speed Control Solenoid Valve, it is usually not necessary to check and adjust the idle speed. However, the idle speed should be adjusted when rough idling occurs.

1. With all accessories OFF, warm up the engine and run it for three minutes at 2,500-3,000 rpm in neutral.
2. Check the initial ignition timing and adjust if necessary.
3. Ground the Self Test Input connector with a jumper wire.
4. For idle speed specification refer to SPECIFICATIONS.
5. Remove the blind cap from the throttle body. Adjust by turning air adjust screw.
