Test Description and Procedure
The Quick Test procedure should be used ONLY when the Diagnostic Routines direct you here. When directed to a Pinpoint test, look carefully at the schematic on the first page of the Pinpoint test and read the Stop Warning below the schematic. Anytime a repair is made, the battery ground cable should be disconnected and the brake pedal must be depressed for approximately 5---10 seconds, then Quick test 3.0 through 6.0 should be repeated to ensure the repair was effective.The Quick Test procedure steps are as follows:
1. Visual Check and Vehicle Preparation.
2. Equipment Hookup.
3. Key-On/Engine-Off Self-Test.
4. Engine Running Self-Test.
5. Continuous Self-Test.
6. Switch Monitor Test (Vehicles built after 11/2/87 only).
7. Refer to Figs. 13 through 18, for Quick Tests.
