ISSUE: The C-11 power steering pumps on 1990 model year vehicles have a new type quickconnect fitting at the pump outlet. The new quick-connect fitting cannot be used with the old type quick-connect fitting. Mixing the two types of fittings will damage the fitting and result in fluid leakage.

ACTION: All service replacement pumps will have the new quick-connect fitting outlet. Service replacement pumps will also have the old type quick-connect outlet fitting provided with each pump and an instruction sheet. To retrofit the pump, the outlet fitting must be replaced with the packaged extra fitting.

NOTE: IF THE EXTRA FITTING IS LOST OR MISSING, THE OUTLET FROM THE OLD PUMP CAN BE TRANSFERRED TO THE NEW PUMP

Special note for vehicles with EVO Variable Assist Power Steering:

Service pumps for cars with electronic variable orifice (EVO) will be packaged with a loose EVO assembly. The conventional outlet fitting must be removed and replaced with the supplied EVO assembly.
