Driver's Side Air Bag Inspection/Replacement
PARTS REQUIREMENTS
Parts for this recall are not available through normal parts ordering channels. To determine if an air bag module is suspect, utilize the form (Attachment II, make copies locally as needed) and fax the inquiry to NAAO Export Sales, Wixom, Fax 313/344-5647. Via return copy of the fax, Wixom will advise if the module requires replacement. If replacement is needed, Wixom will initiate the parts order and a new module will be shipped by tbe supplier to the involved location. Shipment will be free-of-charge with airfreight prepaid.
You are required to tag and package the removed suspect module, in the approved package container in which the replacement model was shipped. You are to hold the removed module pending receipt of return instructions from NAAO Export Sales. The removed module will be checked and the suspect serial number verified by the module supplier.
Your dealership will be billed the full dealer price of the module if:
- the removed module is not retained and subsequently not received by the supplier.
- the removed module's serial number is not on the suspect list.
LABOR ALLOWANCES
Inspect air bag for suspect identification
0.7 Hrs. - Insert in Box "A" on Form 1864
Install new air bag module (includes inspection)
0.9 Hrs. - Insert in Box "B" on Form 1864
Administrative Allowances . . . . . . . 0.1 Hrs.
Add 0.1 hour Administrative Allowance to the total repair time.
Insert the rental car cost in the Towing and Misc. Box on Form 1864
