ISSUE: The air bag module with deployment doors must be replaced if the doors are damaged or marred. The doors must NOT be repainted because the applied paint may degrade the cover material.

ACTION: Replace air bag modules showing damaged or marred deployment doors. Do NOT attempt to repaint the doors. Refer to the Dealer Master Parts Catalog for correct parts usage.


AIR BAG RETURNS

All faulty "live" air bags have been placed on the Mandatory Return List. The old discolored or marred module should be treated the same as any other faulty "live" air bag to be returned.


^ It must be properly packaged in the original service replacement module carton and securely taped shut.

^ The "Flammable Solid" label and shipping exemption must be affixed to the carton.

^ Return the carton to: The Warranty Parts Return Center, 1285 S. Mill Street, Plymouth, Michigan 48170

^ Air bags may be shipped by normal part return procedures outlined in Section 7.0, Page 11, of the Warranty Policy Manual.

NOTE: DEPLOYED AIR BAG MODULES ARE NOT TO BE RETURNED BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY POLICY. THE DEPLOYED AIR BAG CAN BE DISPOSED OF IN THE SAME MANNER AS ANY PART TO BE SCRAPPED.
