SPEED CONTROL - NON-ADJUSTABLE VACUUM DUMP VALVE - REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE - VEHICLES BUILT AFTER 12/15/89

FORD: 1990 TAURUS

LINCOLN-MERCURY: 1990 SABLE

ISSUE: Two different types of speed control vacuum dump valves have been used on 1990 Taurus/Sable vehicles. Units built before 12/15/89 use an adjustable type vacuum dump valve. Units built after 12/15/89 use a non-adjustable type vacuum dump valve.

ACTION: The non-adjustable type vacuum dump valve is not a servicable item. If service is required, replace the non-adjustable dump valve with an adjustable dump valve (E9AZ-9C727-A) and clip assembly (E6LY-9C966-A). Refer to the 1990 Taurus/Sable Shop Manual, Section 37-05 for service details.
