EEC IV - TEST PLUG DAMAGE BY HEAT FROM EXHAUST MANIFOLD

This TSB article is being republished in its entirety to better identify the different terminals in Figure 1.
ISSUE: The EEC IV test plug may become dislodged and come too close or touch the exhaust manifold. This can cause damage to the cover or plug.
ACTION: If service is required, install a new cover, test plug or terminals as required. The EEC IV test plug is located in the engine compartment, RH side of the safety wall. There are three possible areas of damage:
^ If only the test plug cover is damaged, snap on a new cover (E7DZ-14A428-A).
^ If the test plug cover and test plug are damaged, replace both cover (E7DZ-14A428-A) and test plug (D9AZ-14489-U).
^ If the test plug cover, test plug and terminals are damaged, replace all components. Refer to Figure 1 for the proper location of the crimp-on terminals.
