Fuel Tank Draining

WARNING: Make sure that a Class B fire extinguisher is near the work area, and never store fuel in an open container.

1. Remove the negative battery cable from the battery.

2. Use a hand-operated pump to remove as much fuel as possible or, if a hand-operated pump is not available, insert a hose into the fuel inlet and siphon as much fuel out as possible.

NOTE: Fuel injected vehicles have reservoirs inside the fuel tank to keep fuel around the fuel pickup for low fuel or vehicle cornering conditions.
