1. Relieve fuel system pressure as outlined under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELIEF.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain engine coolant and oil into suitable containers.
3. Discharge A/C system (if equipped).
4. Remove air cleaner assembly, battery, battery tray, integrated relay controller, cooling fan assembly and bounce damper bracket.
5. Disconnect hoses from radiator, then remove radiator assembly.
6. Disconnect evaporative emission control hose.
7. Disconnect starter brace, then the exhaust pipes from manifolds.
8. Disconnect power steering hoses, fuel lines and vacuum hoses.
9. Disconnect engine ground strap, heater hoses, accelerator cable linkage, throttle valve linkage and speed control linkage (if equipped).
10. Remove engine mount through bolts, Figs. 3 and 4.
11. Disconnect the following electrical connectors:
a. Ignition coil.
b. Radio frequency suppressor.
c. Cooling fan voltage resistor.
d. Engine coolant temperature sensor.
e. TFI module.
f. Fuel injector wiring harness.
g. Oil pressure sending switch.
h. Ground wire.
i. Block heater (if equipped).
j. Knock sensor.
k. EGO sensor.
l. Oil level sensor.
m. Alternator harness.
n. A/C compressor (if equipped).
12. Install suitable engine lifting equipment and remove engine assembly.
13. Reverse procedure to install.
