1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assembly.
2. Remove brake drum, then the brake hose to strut retaining clip.
3. Remove brake backing plate attaching bolts, then the plate. Wire backing plate out of the way.
4. Remove control arm to spindle attaching bolts, washers and nuts, then the tension strut nut, washer and bushing.
5. Remove spindle to strut pinch bolt, then the spindle.
6. Position replacement spindle onto tension strut, then onto shock strut.
7. Install new strut to spindle pinch bolt. Do not tighten at this time.
8. Install tension strut bushing, washer and new nut. Do not tighten at this time.
9. Install new control arm to spindle attaching bolts.
10. Using suitable jack, raise lower control arm to normal curb height, then tighten nuts and bolts as follows:
a. Torque spindle to strut bolt to specification.
b. Torque tension strut nut to specification.
c. Torque control arm to spindle attaching nuts to specification.
11. Install brake backing plate and brake hose to strut retaining clip.
12. Install brake drum and wheel and tire assembly.
13. Lower vehicle.
