BRAKES - FRONT DISC - AVAILABILITY OF FULL CAST ROTORS - VEHICLES BUILT THROUGH JANUARY, 1991


FORD: 1986-91 TAURUS

LINCOLN-MERCURY: 1986-91 SABLE

1988-91 CONTINENTAL


ISSUE: A new design full cast front disc brake rotor is now available for service use.

ACTION: If service is required, install the new full cast front disc rotors (F10Y-1125-B) in pairs only.


CAUTION: NEVER INSTALL A FULL CAST ROTOR ON ONE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WITH A COMPOSITE ROTOR ON THE OTHER (OPPOSITE) SIDE.

The new full cast front disc rotor will not fit 1991 Taurus/Sable/Continental vehicles built after January, 1991. Vehicles built after January, 1991, use a full cast rotor with a larger pilot diameter (F2DZ-1125-A).


The composite rotor, Part Number (E80Y-1125-A) can still be used on the rear of 1988 and 1989 Continental vehicles.
