ISSUE:
The air conditioner FX-15 compressor may be noisy in some Taurus/Sable vehicles with 3.0L engines or Continental vehicles with 3.8L engines. This may occur because the A/C compressor manifold and tube assembly or the suction accumulator/drier and hose assembly do not muffle or dampen the noise.

ACTION:
Replace the A/C compressor manifold and tube assembly (F2OY-19D734-A) and the suction accumulator/drier and hose assembly (F2OY-19C836-A) with new assemblies incorporating mufflers to dampen noise. Refer to the 1992 Taurus/Sable Service Manual, Section 12-03A, or the 1992 Continental Service Manual, Section 12-03, for service details.
