Rear Head Gasket, Inlet Reed, Valve Plate
Removal
1. Remove clutch assembly.
2. Drain oil from compressor through manifold.

3. Install tool T81P-19623-D or equivalent on compressor to retain cylinder assembly and front head in position, and clamp tool in vise, Fig. 14.
4. Hold rear head and remove six through bolts from cylinder head assembly.
5. Separate rear head assembly from cylinder assembly and remove O-ring from head.

6. Remove dowel pin(s), Fig. 15.
7. Remove inlet reed from rear head and valve plate assembly.

8. Remove valve plate assembly from rear head with tool T81P-19623-B or equivalent, Fig. 10.
9. Remove cylinder gasket from head.
10. Clean rear head, valve plate assembly and inlet reed with suitable cleaning solvent.
Installation
1. Install dowel pin(s) in rear head.
2. Install cylinder gasket on head over dowel pin(s).
3. Install valve plate assembly on cylinder head over dowel pin(s).
4. Lubricate inlet reed with clean refrigerant oil and install inlet reed on valve plate, Fig. 15.
5. Install new O-ring, lubricated with clean refrigerant oil, into O-ring groove of rear cylinder head.
6. Position rear head to cylinder assembly and holding rear head in place, insert six through bolts. Torque bolts to 24-25 ft. lbs. when using old bolts. If replacing bolts, torque new bolts to 18-19 ft. lbs.
7. Remove compressor from support and install compressor clutch assembly. Refill compressor with oil.
