Fig. 8 Starter/clutch Interlock Switch Removal:
1. On models equipped with airbag, disarm airbag system as outlined under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
2. On all models, disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Remove panel above clutch pedal, then disconnect starter/clutch interlock switch wiring.
4. Remove starter/clutch interlock switch attaching screw and hairpin clip, then remove switch.
5. Depress barb at end of rod, then pull rod from clutch pedal.
6. Install switch with self-adjusting clip about one inch from end of rod. During installation of switch, the clutch pedal must be fully up, otherwise the switch may become misadjusted.
7. Insert eyelet end of rod over clutch pedal pin, then install hairpin clip, Fig. 8.
8. Align switch mounting hole with mounting bracket hole, then install and tighten attaching screw.
9. Adjust starter/clutch interlock switch by pressing clutch pedal to floor.
10. Connect wiring connector, then install panel above clutch pedal.
11. Connect battery ground cable, then check switch for proper operation.
12. On models equipped with airbag, reactivate airbag system as outlined under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
