Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

Air Cleaner Assembly:

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the coils high tension lead, the coil connector and the Vane Air-Flow (VAF) electrical connector.
2. Remove the retaining clamp and position the intake hose out of the way.
3. Remove the four bolts securing the air cleaner cover.
4. Remove the air cleaner cover and the filter element.
5. Loosen the nut on the air cleaner inlet nozzle, and remove nozzle.
6. Loosen and remove two nuts, one bolt, and then the air cleaner assembly.

Air Cleaner Bracket:

INSTALLATION
1. Install brackets, if removed.
2. Install air cleaner inlet nozzle and nut.
3. Install the air cleaner assembly and secure with nuts and bolt.
4. Install the air cleaner filter element.
5. Connect the intake hose and tighten clamp.
6. Install the VAF and reconnect electrical connectors.
7. Connect the coil high tension lead.
8. START the engine and check for vacuum leaks.
