ISSUE:
Maximum sealing against water leaks may not be achieved unless the correct level of weatherstrip is fitted to the vehicle.

ACTION:





Refer to Figure 1 for a diagram and chart confirming the latest level of weatherstrips, as well as weatherstrip interchangeability across model years. Additional important service literature is also referenced in this TSB article.

ADDITIONAL SERVICE INFORMATION AND LITERATURE

1. FRONT WINDOW CHANNEL/QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY

^ If an older level front window channel/quarter window assembly requires replacement (i.e. on vehicles built before July 15, 1992), a new windshield header weatherstrip should also be fitted.

NOTE:
GLASS ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES ARE AS LISTED IN SECTION 01-11 OF THE 1994 CAPRI SERVICE MANUAL; HOWEVER, THE FORE AND AFT ADJUSTMENT SETTING IS 7.0 mm (0.281) FOR LATE LEVEL FRONT WINDOW CHANNEL/QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLIES.

2. WINDSHIELD HEADER WEATHERSTRIP

^ Refer to TSB 94-7-3 for windshield header weatherstrip replacement procedures on vehicles built before June 1993. Additionally, glass adjustment settings should be checked and adjusted as necessary in accordance with the procedures listed in the 1994 Capri Service Manual, Section 01-11.

3. FRONT SIDE RAIL WEATHERSTRIPS

^ Refer to Attachment III of Service Program Number 92B07 for replacement procedures.
