Windows: Description and Operation

The Power Window System is powered from the Ignition Switch through the 30A POWER WIND fuse of the Interior Fuse Panel and is hot when the Ignition Switch is in the START or RUN positions. When either of the two Window Switches are activated, current flows from the Ignition Switch through the Window Switch(es) to one lead of the Power Window Motor for UP or the other lead for DOWN.

The current causes the Power Window Motor to rotate in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction to raise or lower the window. Both motor leads are grounded through the Power Window Main Switch when all the Window Switches are OFF.

The Driver's side has a Power Window Main Switch which can raise or lower any of the windows. The Power Window Main Switch has a lock switch which cuts the power to the RH Power Window Switch. This allows only the driver to operate the window.
