Key Cylinder Lamp: Description and Operation

The Illuminated Entry System powers solid state lamps in the front door key lock cylinders and Courtesy Lamps when the outside door handles are raised.

Lifting either front door handle causes the Illuminated Entry Timer to direct current from the INT Lamps Fuse to the Courtesy and Lock Lamps. The Timer will turn the lamps off in about 25 seconds, even if the door handle is held up for a longer period of time.

With the Ignition Switch in ACC or RUN, the Timer is reset and the lamps go out.
