Door Locks: Description and Operation

The power door locks can be operated from a switch on the driver's door armrest or a switch on the passengers side front door armrest.

The driver's side door lock switch and the master window control switch are combined into one assembly: the Master Window/Door Lock Control Switch.

Voltage is present at both door lock switches at all times through the DOOR LOCKS/SEAT MOTORS Circuit Breaker and circuit 171 (BK/W).

Operation from the Master Window/Door Lock Control Switch

Moving the door lock switch portion of the Master Window/Door Lock Control Switch to the LOCK position applies voltage to circuit 117 (PK/BK) through circuit 119 (PK/Y) and the Right Door Lock Switch. Circuit 118 (PK/O) remains grounded through the Right Door Lock Switch, circuit 120 (PK/LG), the Master Window/Door Lock Control Switch and circuit 57 (BK). The Door Lock Motors run to lock all doors.

Operation from the Right Door Lock Switch

Operation of the power door locks from the Right Door Lock Switch is similar to operation from the Master Window/Door Lock Control Switch; however, the Right Door Lock Switch applies power directly to circuits 117 (PK/BK) and 118 (PK/O). Circuits 119 (PK/Y) and 120 (PK/LG) and the Master Window/Door Lock Control Switch are still used as ground circuits.

When the door lock switches are in the NEUTRAL position, all Door Lock Motor wires are grounded through the Master Window/Door Lock Control Switch and circuit 57 (BK).
