ISSUE:
The service brake pedal may be slow to return or it may not completely return after application. This may occur after a high engine vacuum condition, such as a (brakes-off) deceleration from above 60 mph (96 km/h). It is caused by the brake booster and only vehicles with the Anti-Lock Brake System are affected. Vehicle stopping capacity and distance are not affected.
ACTION:
Replace the brake booster. Refer to the appropriate 1992 Car Service Manual, Section 06-09, for service details.
NOTE:
IF THE COMPLAINT IS VIBRATION DURING BRAKE APPLICATION AND/OR EXCESSIVE LINING WEAR, THE BOOSTER SHOULD NOT BE REPLACED UNLESS THE SLOW OR NO RETURN BRAKE PEDAL IS CONFIRMED.
