^ 1994-1995 Model Year 3.0L Taurus (except SHO)/Sable
^ 1992-1993 Model Year 3.8L Taurus/Sable
^ 1992-1994 Model Year Lincoln Continental

Reason For Recall
The engine cooling fan could freeze to the fan shroud due to accumulation of ice, snow and slush when the car is operated during certain combinations of heavy snows, high winds and below-freezing temperatures. If either the fan motor is automatically actuated (to lower the engine coolant temperature) or the windshield defroster is manually activated while the engine cooling fan is frozen to the shroud, the engine cooling fan motor and its wiring may over heat. In some cases a fire could result.

Service Action
To correct this condition, dealers are to revise the engine cooling fan motor circuit protection as follows:

^ Tempo/Topaz, 3.0L Taurus (except SHO)/Sable and Lincoln Continental vehicles

-- install a fused jumper harness within the engine compartment.

^ 3.8L Taurus/Sable

- replace High Current Distribution Box Cover.

- and sticker page the owner guide with revised High Current Fuse Chart.
