Pressure Plate: Service and Repair
Exploded View Of Clutch Assembly:
1. Remove transaxle as described under MANUAL TRANSAXLE procedure.
2. Loosen pressure plate attaching bolts evenly to avoid distortion. If pressure plate is to be reused, scribe reference marks between plate and flywheel for reference during assembly.
3. Remove pressure plate and clutch disc from flywheel, Fig. 2. These models do not use a pilot bearing.
4. Position clutch disc and pressure plate onto flywheel with flatter side of clutch disc facing toward flywheel.
5. Ensure three dowel pins on flywheel are aligned with holes in pressure plate, then install mounting bolts. Do not tighten at this time.
6. Using clutch alignment tool T81P-7550-A or equivalent, align clutch disc with flywheel. Alternately tighten pressure plate mounting screws until fully seated, then torque bolts to specifications.
7. Remove alignment tool, than install transaxle.
