ISSUE:
A new low one-way clutch kit (F2DZ-7D171-A) is now available for service use. The 1992 AXODE transaxle forward clutch pack revisions have been made and parts are not interchangeable with prior model parts.

ACTION:
If service is required, take the following points into consideration.





1. The low one-way clutch outer race for 1992 has a larger outer diameter, Figure 1. This new larger outer diameter race requires the use of new style forward clutch plates.

NOTE:
THE INNER DIAMETER OF THE LOW ONE-WAY CLUTCH OUTER RACE HAS NOT CHANGED.

2. Clutch plates will remain available for current and past model transaxles.

3. The old race (E6DZ-7D171-A) is no longer available.

4. A new low one-way clutch kit (F2DZ-7D171-A) is available to service prior models. This kit includes the following five (5) components.

^ One (1) Low one-way clutch outer race

^ Three (3) Forward clutch external spline plates (steel)

^ Three (3) Forward clutch internal spline plates (friction)

^ One (1) Forward clutch wave spring

^ One (1) Forward clutch pressure plate

NOTE:
WHEN REPLACING THE RACE, ALL THE PARTS IN THE KIT MUST BE USED.

5. When ordering a overhaul kit for an AXODE with the new style race, the forward clutch friction plates and steel plates must be ordered separately, unless the low one-way clutch kit (F2DZ-7D171-A) is used.
