ISSUE:
An AXODE automatic transaxle exchange program is available. Exchange transaxles are limited to units covered by powertrain warranty only.

ACTION:
Refer to the "Exchange Program Guide Binder" for details. For additional information and request for exchange units, call: 1-800-345-6895.

To qualify for this program, the transaxle must need internal repairs that require removal of the transaxle from the vehicle. Converter repairs are not covered by this program.

The following information will be required when calling for an exchange:

^ Dealer name, address, phone number and P and A code

^ Vehicle line, model year and mileage

^ VIN and vehicle build date

^ Transaxle serial number and model from the transaxle ID tag

^ Transaxle engineering part number (F2DP-7000-BA 3.0L Taurus/Sable, F2DP-7000-CA 3.8L Taurus/Sable, F2DP-7000-DA 3.8L Continental)

^ Repair order number

^ Vehicle date of sale

^ Description of concern

Instructions for returning the original transaxle are included with the exchange unit.
