AFFECTED VEHICLES
1992-model Taurus and Sables equipped with 3.8L engines having calibration codes 2-16C-R10 and 2-16Q-R10 only and manufactured at the Atlanta and Chicago Assembly Plants as follows:

* Calibration Code 2-16C-R10

Atlanta - From 1/08/92 through 3/13/92 Chicago - From 1/08/92 through 3/12/92

* Calibration Code 2-16Q-R10

Atlanta - From 11/18/91 through 3/13/92 Chicago - From 11/18/91 through 3/12/92

REASONS FOR RECALL
The affected Taurus and Sables were manufactured with incorrect electronic engine control (EEC) processors.

SERVICE ACTION/DELIVERY HOLD RELEASE
Cars returned for service must have electronic engine control (EEC) processors replaced. The delivery hold announced in the referenced mailgrams is released when this service is provided.

You must consult OASIS to determine if a Taurus or Sable car is affected by this recall (Some cars were modified at the assembly plants).
