Fluid - A/T: Service and Repair
FLUID CHANGENOTE: Fluid and filter changes are not required for average passenger car use. Severe usage such as commercial use or prolonged periods of idling require fluid and filter be changed every 30,000 miles. Whenever changing or adding fluid, ensure manufacturer recommended automatic transaxle fluid is used.
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Loosen transaxle oil pan attaching bolts and allow fluid to drain.
3. Remove oil pan and clean thoroughly.
4. Install new gasket onto pan, then the pan onto transaxle.
5. Fill transaxle to correct fluid level, then operate engine at idle. With parking brake applied, move selector lever to each position. Place lever in Park position and check fluid level with engine at operating temperature. Add fluid as necessary.
