Parking Brake System: Adjustments
Cable Adjustment
1. With engine running, apply approximately 450 N (100 lbs) pedal effort to hydraulic service brake 3 times before adjusting parking brake.
2. Place transaxle in NEUTRAL. Raise rear of vehicle off ground just enough to ROTATE wheels.
3. Place parking brake control assembly in 12th notch position (2 notches from full application). Tighten adjusting nut until approximately 25 mm (1 inch) of threaded rod is exposed beyond nut. Release parking brake control and ROTATE rear wheels by hand. There should be no brake drag. Position lever in 6th notch from OFF positions. Place a push-pull scale 222.25 mm (8.75 inch) FORWARD of lever. Pivot point should read 54-95 Nm (40-70 ft-lbs) tension when pull lever is pulled into seventh notch.
4. Lower vehicle and check operation of parking brake by fully applying.
