Standard Wipers

Wiper/Washer Switch

The Wiper Washer Switch has both a Wiper Switch and a momentary Washer Switch. The Wiper Switch has three positions: OFF, LO and HI.

Washer Operation

Pushing the wiper/washer control knob sends current from Circuit Breaker 2 directly to the Windshield Washer Pump motor as long as the Washer Switch is held closed.

Wiper Operation

With the Wiper Switch in LO or HI, current from circuit Breaker 2 flows to the LO or HI terminal of the Wiper Motor. The path to ground is completed through the C (common) terminal of the Wiper Motor.

Current also flows from Circuit Breaker 2 to the Washer Switch.
When parking, current flows through:
1. Circuit Breaker 2 and the 63 (R) wire to the run contact of the Wiper Motor Switch, then back to the Wiper Switch through the 28 (BK/PK) wire:
2. The Wiper Switch and the 58 (W) wire to the Wiper Motor LO terminal; and through the Wiper Motor LO terminal; and through the Wiper Motor C (common) terminal to ground.
3. The wiper Motor continues to run until the Motor actuates the Wiper Motor Park Switch. When the contacts move to the PARK position, the wiper LO terminal is grounded through the 58 (W) wire and the Wiper Park Switch: the operation then stops.
