Backup Lamp: Description and Operation

With the Ignition Switch in START or RUN, voltage is present at the Backup/Upshift Switch (manual transaxle) or Manual Lever Position Switch (automatic transaxle) through the METER Fuse.

When the transaxle is shifted in REVERSE, current flows through the METER Fuse, the Backup/Upshift Switch contacts (manual transaxle) or Manual Lever Position Switch (automatic transaxle) and the Backup Lamps to ground. The Backup Lamps illuminate.
