Starter Motor: Service and Repair
On 1994 models equipped with airbags, disable airbag system prior to performing service operation as possible airbag deployment may cause personal injury.1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove air duct from throttle body to resonance chamber.
2. Remove starter motor upper mount bolts, then raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove intake plenum support bracket, then disconnect ``S'' terminal connector from starter solenoid. When disconnecting connector from ``S'' terminal, grasp connector and depress plastic tab to remove.
4. Remove ``B'' terminal attaching nut and disconnect cable from terminal.
5. Remove starter motor lower mounting bolt, then the starter motor.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Torque upper and lower mounting bolts to 15-20 ft. lbs. and ``B'' terminal attaching nut to 7-12 ft. lbs.
